Oooh!! Leonie, was known for her sharp and brilliant interior masked by a scatterbrained fascade. She would mirror Edith Bunker, while taking care of the finances for dad's companies and managing the investments in a meticulous manner.

She is famous for being a chocoholic, hiding chocolates all over the house and explaining "oh, I'm saving them for the kids!"; taking her glucose reading and when it said "HIGH" (a reading dangerously over 33mmol/ml), she would say "It always goes up all by itself! Don't worry, it'll go down."
A fond memory is mom picking up my friends and me after dark and finding it really funny that she was able to drive her Thunderbird in the dark without the lights on.

Hypothyroidism,
Brittle Insulin dependent Diabetic as of 2005-12.
At age 80: Diabetic coma, Kidney failure, required a pacemaker for Aryhmia (too fast), Aerterial sclerosis (required vascular transplant in R leg).
Jan 2015: broke hip, required two weeks to stabilize adequately for hip opearation, passed away one day after operation due to internal hemorage.
